Automotive and aviation

Streamlining and quality assurance in the automotive and aerospace industry.

Humidification in the automotive and aerospace industries is driven by the need to achieve optimal conditions at every stage of the production process. Surface work, painting, assembly and test benches place different demands on the indoor climate.

Klimabefukting.no offers the best climate solutions to meet temperature and humidity requirements, both in the form of air humidification via ventilation systems and direct humidification.

  • Reduced downtime in production
  • Optimal and consistent refinishing
  • Cooling effect against waste heat
  • Reduced maintenance costs

Painting

If the air is too dry during painting, the paint hardens too quickly. Cracks and other defects may appear on the surface and the result will lack gloss.

Low humidity can also cause the paint to become electrostatically charged and thus attract particles from the air. This can cause craters or bubbles in the paint that are not noticeable during painting, but only after the paint has dried.

In powder coating, excessively dry air can cause the paint particles to retain their electrical charge after sticking, thus repelling other particles. This can cause uneven accumulation of paint and poor surface quality.

Proper humidification prevents evaporation of the water-based paint so that it adheres to the car body in an optimal way.

Surface treatment

Correct humidity during sanding and polishing will suppress particulate matter, which in turn reduces static electricity. This prevents airborne paint dust from being drawn to the surface, significantly reducing sanding time and improving the quality of the finish.

Test bench

Testing the engine and other components under different temperature and humidity conditions is an important part of ensuring good performance.

Emissions testing must be carried out within certain temperature and humidity margins. It is therefore important to have humidification systems that deliver optimal and even humidification.
