Plastic production
Electrostatic control in the plastics industry.
When processing plastics, the main challenge is often problems caused by electrostatic charging. Air humidification provides effective reduction in electromagnetic charging.
Klimabefukting.no designs systems for air humidification that can be integrated into existing air conditioning systems or implemented as stand-alone solutions.
Electrostatic discharge
When manufacturing fiberglass products such as boats, wind turbine blades, etc. the various production phases increase the risk of electrostatic discharges (ESD), which can damage both machinery and personnel.
Maintaining optimum humidity levels can help reduce these risks, thereby optimizing production and lowering costs.
Particulate matter
In plastics manufacturing, airborne dust is a well-known problem as particles are attracted to statically charged components.
Air humidification reduces static build-up and thus the amount of particulate matter in the production facility.

Material properties
Static electricity can attract dust and other airborne particles to plastic surfaces, causing defects such as stains, streaks and unevenness. Furthermore, it can cause e.g. pellets to clump in the pond and plastic films to stick to each other.
By maintaining a constant humidity level, static electricity in plastics production can be drastically reduced.
